Let’s think about it! How do you feel when you are smiling? Happy? And afterward? Your mood is changed for the better even if you didn’t feel great before. Maybe it can’t be ultimate mood changer, but it can make you feel better about yourself and world around you. Right?

Smiling can help you to relieve stress

Why is smiling so importantSeems smiling is almost similar to getting good night sleep because it reduces the stress that your mind and body feel. How do you feel after a good nights sleep? Refreshed and more peaceful than you were before sleeping. Right? You are just feeling well most of the time.

Of course, I understand that sometimes it’s not the case because in the morning many of you already feel anxiety and stress coming back (I know the feeling). But either way, you usually feel better than the night before.

Smiling helps you feel happier and more positive about life and your place in it. If you are feeling happy stress can’t affect you.

How often do you smile? Children smile more than adults (400 times a day), but average people only smile about 20 times per day.

Why is smiling so importantImagine what would happen if we smile more! How your life would change?

Happy people smile about 50 times a day, and I bet they feel less stressed than those who smile less.

How Smiling help you de-stress?

Smiling decreases the stress-induced hormones that are the ones that negatively affect your health and well-being.

Take a few deep breaths and smile, if you are feeling stressed. The world will smile with you.

Smiling also can help you reduce symptoms associated with anxiety.

How does it work?

A smile gives signals to your brain that you are feeling happy, and in this way, your heart rate and breathing will slow down making your body less tensed. When you smile, the movement of muscles releases endorphins which trigger a positive feeling, lower stress levels and improve your mood. Isn’t it great?

We all know that laughing is a great way to let go of stress, and has other benefits such as burning calories, lowering blood sugar levels, improving sleep and boosting your immune system. So why don’t you want to smile more?

    Great post! I am a big smiler. I love sharing smiles with others and making people laugh. I am very goofy so if you are around me you have to be a silly person. I agree with your benefits of smiling because I probably don’t stress as often as I would if it weren’t for the fact I am always smiling. Plus, I think I have passed it on to my kids because we all laugh and smile together all the time. Great way to relieve stress.
