Or maybe you can’t deal with it and get caught in a trap using unhealthy habits, which make everything worse, but you just don’t understand it at that moment. I know, I know. You just want stress, anxiety, and worry to go away.

Believe me, I understand how frustrating is stress, and if anxiety strikes too, it’s hard to think clearly. I am not sure how it is for you, and I love to hear your stories. But I know that you need some tips to help you. We all do.

Lately, I am less stressed because I use many stress relief tips, relaxation methods and I also changed my life. Now I am doing, what I like and love. Almost always.

I choose three tips for you, and right now you can stop wondering how to deal with stress the healthy way.  Let’s begin!

1. Eating Healthy And Avoid Caffeine, Alcohol, and Nicotine

How To Deal With Stress The Healthy WayIf you want to deal with stress and be healthy, you need to stop eating unhealthy food that is bad for your body and mind. Eating healthy is important if you want to be calm, less stressed, and happy. Remember that everything is connected – mind and body, food and health, well-being and stress.

When I felt stressed, I often ate sweets. Especially, I love chocolate, but now I am trying to avoid sugar and eat fewer sweets. I can say that I am feeling much better, and I am glad I made that choice.

How To Deal With Stress The Healthy WayDo you drink coffee? Even if you think, that coffee helps you to be more alert and combat stress, avoid it. I know it seems good at first, but in the long run, it isn’t good for your well-being and stress levels.

Drinking coffee push you to move fast, and it can affect your performance badly. Of course, caffeine can provide short-term stress relief, but it increases anxiety and produce more stress hormone.

It’s better to avoid or at least reduce your consumption of caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. In fact, these stimulants increase your level of stress even if you believe that they are helping you to reduce it.

2. Physical Activity

When I feel stressed, I often go for a walk, and it is helping me to clear my head, let go of negative emotions and reduce stress. I always return home calmer and relaxed. I am not the only want who feels the benefits of physical activity in dealing with stress.

Physical exercise can be used to metabolize excessive stress hormones and in that way reduce stress. After physical activity, you will be calmer and more relaxed. Try it!

3. Talking to your friends or family

How To Deal With Stress The Healthy WayRemember you are not alone in this world, and sometimes you need to talk to somebody about your issues, worries, things that cause stress. Talking can be a distraction from your stressful thoughts. But it’s also good for releasing your tension by discussion.

I always feel calmer when I talk to my mom, and we are helping each other to deal with stress and anxiety. I appreciate that I have her in my life, and we can discuss things, laugh, and inspire each other.

You too have special people in your life. Talk to them! Listen! Talk! Talking things through with a friend can help you to let go of stress and find solutions.

 Conclusion

If you want to deal with stress the healthy way, you need to eat healthily and avoid caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine, indulge in physical activity. A great way to deal with stress is talking to someone you love, your friends, or your family members.

    Hi Linda,
I totally agree with your list and I thank you for reminding us that caffeine while it provides short-term relief it does increase anxiety. Exercise is always useful especially as you say getting out to walk. I like to take the time to think about my breathing as I walk, it is very useful. Thanks for the great article!
